I was looking through the past music picks on the site, to find , much to my
horror, a submision of mine from way back!!!
What was I thinking of! The Jam-Going Undergrunt. Dobie Gray-Out On The
Floor. It makes me realise that in just over two years how much great music
one can listen to. The ones I listed, although still great songs, have all
been shattered by far superior tracks that I have come in contact with over
the last few years. It's really scary how much my music base has changed
since I started on the list.
My Top 10 at the moment, nearly all soul tunes.
The Paragons? - Abba
Celestrals - Keep Your Hands Off My Baby (surely the same backing as
Selfish One by Jackie Ross?)
Gia Matteo - If You Can't Say Anything Nice
Brenda Holloway - When I'm Gone (Never of my deck at the moment!)
The Ojays - Hold On
Barabara Acklin - Just Ain't No Love (Just discovered how powerful and
relevent these lyrics are)
Bobby Smith - Walk On Into My Heart
Marvin Gaye - I'm Crazy About My Baby (b-side to Can I Get A Witness,
pisses all
over it as far as I'm
concerned)
The Temptations - I Gotta Find A Way To Get You Back
The Isleys - Why When Love Is Gone,
And far to many to list...
Oh, and Brian, as to which side is better on that Spyder Turner 45, 'Don't
Hold Back' makes my carpet burn....
Matt....
