Actually, according to the Gregorian Calendar, christ was born in the year
1, as the concept of zero had yet to be discovered by the western world
(meanwhile, Arab mathematicians had been using it for centuries). So, we
have to live with this defect.
It's a human system (applied circa 500-700 a.d.) anyway, so I wouldn't sweat
Xtian eschatology on NYE.
