I was the someone who called the VH1 fashion awards "gawd-awful", and maybe
I stepped on David's toes, maybe not. Regardless of my opinion of the
output, it sounds like an interesting project to have been involved in.
Unless he hired the presenters and/or hosts, thought Jennifer Lopez was
anything but embarrassing or decided on the winners, I'm not about to tell
him he did a shit job. Hell, I've got a close friend who works for the
circus, but I'm not wild about that either. Still, he has an interesting
job that he enjoys. So, I most certainly mean no offense to David Elliott
when I talk trash about something he obviously worked hard on.

Having said that, Curtis Mayfield, Russell Thompkins Jr. and Prince are but
three voices that sound natrual when singing falsetto. There are others,
but I chose to name drop them specifically in my post. I can appreciate
Beck's effort, but I think he was ineffective without the proper skills.
To put it differently, I know some jokes, and I tell them on occasion, but
by no means am I a stand up comedian and I don't tend to do stand up
routines.

Certainly, somebody behind the scenes will always have a more in depth
perspective than a Joe Average TV viewer, but when all is said and done,
it's the TV viewer who has the lasting perception, as it is the public one.
Sure it sucks that he lost his baggage, sounded better in rehearsals and
whatnot. But, there's one thing I do know from my own stage experience
over the past 15 years, an audience is RARELY concerned with what happened
backstage beforehand, and is less often sympathetic about it.

I think it's very cool that David is able to shed some light on the reality
of what was going on, and I know how exciting it can be to be behind the
scenes from my own experiences (none of which involve supermodels, sadly
enough). I also appreciate the fact that he would share that experience
with us. However, I think maybe Beck should have played his new single,
which I do happen to like as a matter of fact.

p.s. ...and Dave, if you'd like to share any of the other backstage dirt
and gossip with us, you have an open stage (just don't sing it to us in a
falsetto voice) and yeah, I'll ease up on Beck's appearance now :^)
