when i was in high school me and some pals were smoking weed in a stairwell
in the west 20s (i know, classy!) when who comes walking down the stairs but
bill murray! we offered him the blunt, and he stopped, smiled broadly and
said he'd love to but was in a hurry -- he was very cool, but the guy with
him looked mildly scared. hahaha.. also when i was in high school we used to
see yoko ono all the time (i went to school a few blocks from the dakota), as
well as steven wright.

other sightings: i once stood behind tiny tim in a deli, saw flava flav
walking down the street holding hands with a girl waaay too young for him (we
said what's up and he replied loudly some kinda gibberish which none of us
could understand), took the subway sitting next to whatshisname from the
*jeffersons* and recently saw 'lil kim in front of the celular phone place in
my neighborhood... my dad went to high school (though he was a few years
older) with harvey kietel, who i met a few times as a kid. also attending my
dad's high school, though i never got to meet any of 'em: mel brook (older
than my pops), the tokens (of "the lion sleeps tonight"-fame), louis gosset
jr. and a few others i can't recall. oh yeah, my uncle was pal's with richie
havens in the early '60s.

my fave sighting story: a girl i know saw harrison ford -- who she is totally
in love with -- walking down the street, grabbed the girl's arm she was with
and said -- apparantly too loud -- "it's harrison fucking ford!" he turned
around and said to her, "that's not my middle name," to which she said she
could only nervously smile.
