Christ, Stafford, you're like the ask Cecil column or something: all the
facts. Interesting to read, anyway. I don't think that last bit (above) can
possibly be true. Just about any exposure I've had to recent public school
graduates show that none of them can read and that none of them has any
concept of culture at all. It seems that they just aren't teaching arts in
school any more. Then again, our very own list has someone like Chantal, who
gives me hope for the future, but I suspect that her grooviness is more a
product of her own searching than anything our overpopulated and underfunded
schools could have achieved. I believe that the idiots of tomorrow are but
the refuge of our corporate culture.
