Yes.. and if you do dance with out a "Cabaret License" you get a 
bunch of Fire Marshals showing up and shutting it down..

In many ways Cabaret License is a way to regulate who has dance 
venues.  Just like the liquor license I believe you have to jump 
through some pretty big hoops or maybe some not so big hoops at city 
hall to get this.

ON the other hand rival party promoters will use the absence of a 
License to call in an illegal dance party.. shutting it down and 
forcing people to attend their event instead..
