Reggie was/is a good singer - but he was no soul singer. The Action's
soul covers don't come close to touching the originals! (though I must
admit I haven't heard the originals of ALL the songs they covered.....)
They certainly don't 'move your soul'!
Some of their numbers were damn good: 'I'll Keep On...' - a great dancer
- BUT nowhere near as 'soulful' as the Marvelettes.
As for 'Lonely Room', 'Harlem Shuffle'.... YIKES!
I like most of the numbers they penned themselves, and a couple of their
covers..... but give me the originals any day!

I am tempted to go as far as to say that I actually PREFER the Monkees
to the Action! (though don't quote me on that!!!)
