I've not the Supremes doing this song - I only know the Martha Reeves &
the Vandellas version...
But if you rate the Action's cover over that one you must be mad!!!
That is one of my fave soul songs and almost brings tears to my eyes!
It's beautiful and sooo soulful!
The Action's CRAP version sounds so affected and almost camp..
reminds me of David Bowie's cover of the Stones 'Let's spend the night
together'!!!
As for Nick Rossi diggin' Reggie King over Steve Marriott......... nah,
mate!
I've admitted Reg is a good singer - he DOES sound soulful at times.
Nice cover of Since I Lost My baby - but NOT soul singing...
I'll Keep On... is pretty soulful - and actually his singing on Harlem
Shuffle (tho inferior to Bob/Earl) is quite soulful - shame the crap
accompianment and dire backing vocal spoil the song!!
