Yes, he is from Philadelphia. Any of Donaldson's late-60s Blue Note albums
are worth getting for heavy Hammond sounds, mostly supplied by John Patton.
I'm listening to "Alligator Boogaloo" as we speak. Grant Green is of course
another who usually had an organ (John Patton again!) in his small groups,
"Iron City" is one of the best jazz albums of the 60s, quite honestly.
