yes but surely there aren't that many people who make such serious
allegations against someone who is bound to create so much public interest.
the police couldn't be seen to ignore this even if they didn't believe a
word of it purely because of the high profile of it. the girl/boy would
surely go to the papers if the police didn't take action and that isn't the
sort of publicity i would imagine they're after. they really don't have a
choice.
