to be honest, the people who'd analysed e-mail lists were feminists with an
axe to grind - i spose if the men on this list started to talk about shaving
and sideburns, girls would get pissed off! i was just wondering how people
felt the findings of those 'researchers' reflected what goes on here on the
modslist.
there isn't that much on the modslist at all about clothes or image-wise
posts, it's mainly music-based, unless someone asks about shops or sites
where they can get clothes or shoes from. is the gender thing perhaps why
this is?
what is quite amusing, Mr Geddes, is that, as you say, this list is mostly
bloke-esque, and so there is little point in girls posting about girl things
- well, most of the people who read Dansette (my fanzine) are men, even tho'
i always have articles about make-up or girls' clothing etc!
i dunno - maybe they skip through those pages!
