I understand the point you're trying to make, but another viewpoint
would be that speaking and the written word are used to get your (hee hee)
point across. Now if we were in school writing a paper about High Altitude
Syncope, I would expect the grammar to be exceptional.
However in casual conversations, the grammarians will have to accept
that we're not paying attention to our grammar as tightly as we would if we
were being graded on it, or if we were in a situation that warranted it
(i.e.: business meetings). The result however, is the same: we have gotten
our point across.
In other words, may be yoo should'nt apply you're gramer rulz too us. ;-)
