Sorry if this has been referenced elswhere, I could find no mention of it.

I personally do not like frontpage, but many of my customers do, thus, I'm stuck
with it.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with mod_ssl or the frontpage extensions, but
it has been evident since I switched from apache-ssl to mod_ssl.

Whenever one uses the frontpage client program to access a web site for
authoring, it no longer asks for a username or password. It just logs you in as
user "www". "www" is the user who owns all of the frontpage webs and is also
the UID which httpd runs as.

The list of allowed users is still there, it is just being ignored.
