Well, I have installed SSLeay-0.9.0b-3 and
apache-mod_ssl-1.3.3-2.0.13-1 on December, 4, 1998 on a
RedHat 5.1 intel box. These packages were built on
fobos.ulpgc.es by [EMAIL PROTECTED], and I am not really doing
'production' with it. I tried the binaries because I
wanted apache-ssl to run on Linux Alpha but did not get
SSLeay to compile on Alpha, then.
The intel installation is still running fine for me. Then, when
openssl appeared on the scene, I succesfully built it for all
the linux platforms that I have access to (intel, alpha, mips)
but I got too busy to clean up all the rpm spec files and keep
up with the apache / mod_ssl / openssl changes.
I'll propably get back to it when openssl 0.9.2 will be officially
released, then I'll upgrade apache and mod_ssl as well.
In the mean time, I have rpm's ready for alpha:
apache-mod_ssl-1.3.3-2.1.6.alpha.rpm
openssl-0.9.1c-0_1999_01_10.alpha.rpm
openssl-devel-0.9.1c-0_1999_01_10.alpha.rpm
The openssl rpm's are tricked a bit since they are just
packaged out of a running system that was installed from
the CVS tree. That's why the 'release number' starts with
0 and has the CVS modification date appended.
For the mips binaries I did not yet bundle it to rpms because
that would interfere with the vendor software that is needed
to configure the box itself. It is running fine but just
installed from the sources somewhere into /usr/local.
In case anyone wants to try these binaries, just ask here
or in private email. Up to now, I didn't notice any interest
in alpha or mips binaries from the field.
