May I suggest to keep such "what is better and why" discussions
from the list? We all should be proud that there are now 2 different
and mostly stable packages to choose from if one wants to do
SSL with Apache in the free world. Every package has its times
when it makes problems (eg. look at the recent problems with
shm:/... session cache for mod_ssl) but since both are maintained
that is not much a problem for long.
Regarding gcache. At least if you follow the Apache-SSL list
it is notable that nearly none complains about problem with
gcache anymore...
