JServ will listen on 8007, yes.  But that port is for a connection from
the web *server* to the JServ engine, not for connections from the
*browser* to the JServ engine.  So as long as your URL to the servlet
starts with https://, the connection from the client to the web server
will go through port 443 and then be directed through the web server to
port 8007 (insecurely, but only within the confines of your server
machine, assuming that you are running the web server on the same
machine as the jserv engine).  That's why the default setup is such that
only 'localhost' is allowed to connect to the 8007 port... the web
server itself makes that connection, not the browsers.

Does that make sense?
