Uhh, not to be obnoxious or anything, but port 8007 should only accept
connections from priveleged hosts, and you shouldn't allow it through
your firewall. Ports 80 and 443 are the only ones you should need open;
if you must distribute your servlet engines, do it with something like
FreeS/WAN.
This is less of a mod_ssl misunderstanding than a Jserv
misunderstanding, I think.
Let me know if I'm mistaken in evaluating what you're trying to do. I
ditched Jserv recently; it's just too much of a pain for me to run both
Jserv *and* mod_perl with full extensions and the EAPI, so I chose
Perl. Using DSOs for both, however, I was able to get a full and secure
Apache-Jserv installation going for my last employer; it is still in
use.
