On one of my RedHat 6.1 systems, (one without name based virtual host
directives), I just had to add the line Listen 80 to the httpd.conf to get
this working. On another 6.1 system with name based virtual host directives,
I had to add a VirtualHost definition for the IP address of the server, (did
not need the port), like so:
<VirtualHost 192.168.0.6>
DocumentRoot "/home/httpd/html"
ServerName www.myserver.com
</VirtualHost>
In both cases, the httpd services did not work out of the box although https
did.
