Oh, I didn't see that in your message. 
In that case, you could try to verify your key by(change file names as needed):

openssl rsa -noout -text -in server.key 

and check the cert with:

openssl x509 -noout -text -in server.crt

If those don't get you anything, then try:

openssl s_server -accept 443 -key server.key -cert server.crt -www -state -debug

and point netscape at it.
