I've set up a secured webserver under OBSD 2.7 - While testing I
noticed something unusual - I realize this not be on-topic for this
list, but before I pursued it further I thought I'd ask here to see if
anyone else has seen this.
made all my certs, keys, etc
started w/ #httpd -DSSL
httpd starts w/ no problems
The secured webserver is outside my firewall
Windows client browsers are all inside the firewall
When testing with the Navigator 4.08 browser fm a WinNT box (I'm
browsing the Apache & mod_ssl docs over SSL) I get several successful
page loads in succession, but then the browser just appears to "hang"
(hang = the meteor shower in the Netscape icon continues, but no page is
loaded). No amount of waiting seems to cure this - if I close Navigator
& re-start I can get a few more pages before this happens again. I tried
this from another WinNT box w/ Navigator 4.08 & saw the same behavior.
Poking around in the Apache logs revealed nothing interesting (to me,
anyway).
When testing w/ Internet Explorer, I don't encounter this problem. I'm
banging away at the secure webserver, no delays or constipation of any
kind. In other words, it works like I hoped.
This appears to be a Netscape problem, but if there's something that I
can do server-side to correct it I'd very much like to do that.
Thanks,
James Moore
