My real problem is getting an IP Address out of my ISP. Maybe I'm mistaken,
but doesn't IPv6 add a considerable amount of addresses to the address
space? But I know this doesn't solve the problem with using SSL and name
based virtual hosting. Thanks for the RFC reference, I'll check that out.

Sorry, I do not see why IPv6 would solve this problem.  The only real
solution
AFAIK is described in RFC 2817 ("Upgrading to TLS Within HTTP/1.1"). The
only
problem is that AFAIK no browser supports this - that's why it is still in
the
middle and not the top of my TODO list for mod_ssl.
