Just because the ISP that hosts your domain is using Apache/1.3.6 (Unix)
PHP/3.0.12 mod_ssl/2.3.11 OpenSSL/0.9.3a on a Linux box to get your site
on the web, doesn't mean the mod_ssl community has taken control of your
site, just like the fact that that ISP uses Intel-based hardware doesn't
mean Intel has taken control of your site.
What probably confuses you is that you get to see some default page
because your site is incomplete or badly configured, or missing
something like a default.html or index.html. Apache then displays
something like:
"If you can see this page, then the people who own this domain have just
installed the Apache Web server software and Apache
Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully. They now have to add
content to this directory and replace this placeholder page, or else
point the server at their real content.
ATTENTION!
If you are seeing this page instead of the site you expected, please
contact the administrator of the site involved. (Try sending mail to
<webmaster@domain>.) Although this site is running the Apache software
it almost certainly has no other connection to the Apache Group, so
please do not send mail about this site or its contents to the Apache
authors. If you do, your message will be ignored."
Do mark the "ATTENTION"
We should basically just ignore you, as the ATTENTION says, but I hate
to see people making a complete fool out of themselves. So my message to
you is:
"YOU APPARENTLY DON'T UNDERSTAND SHIT ABOUT YOUR OWN DOMAIN NOR THE ISP
HOSTING IT.
PLEASE STOP BOTHERING US WITH YOUR IGNORANCE. YOU ARE SERIOUSLY
DISRUPTING OUR MAILINGLIST
Please no excuses and no refusals."
