I haven't had any experience with Tomcat, you can skip php. That link
is a little dated, it worked for me on COL 2.3 but I'm having some
trouble with the latest Beta release from Caldera. If you can just get
your mod_ssl and openssl configured I thind you can add Tomcat with
apxs. Read some docs and see if you can.
