I don't know if I am the only one to ask this although searching the
archives produced no results.
I am barely a linux user/admin. I was brought into this company and we got
some linux servers without much training happening so I'm learning as I go.
With that in mind, I hope you will be gentle with me.
I have:
Apache 1.3.12
Mod_ssl 2.6.6 w/ Openssl 0.9.5a
Mod_Perl 1.23
Perl 5.005_03 (DSO)
and I would like to upgrade to:
Apache 1.3.14
Mod_ssl 2.7.1 w/Openssl 0.9.6
Mod_Perl 1.24 (DSO)
But, in the INSTALL file it states to get Perl and the version it lists is
5.6.0. I would like to upgrade to 5.6.0 of Perl but I'm afraid to break my
server in case there are incompatibility issues. (which I have an e-mail out
to another list on this matter and have gotten much help from the
newsgroups.)
So, my major question is: Can I upgrade without Perl 5.6.0?
Also, secondary question: I used to need rsaref because I was in the US that
is not required anymore per the INSTALL document. Will my certs that are
currently on my server cease to work without this now?
Any help appreciated.
