Can anyone clarify for me the distinction found on search.cpan.org Authors pages between 'Releases' and 'Registered Modules'? See, e.g., http://search.cpan.org/author/DCONWAY/ or http://search.cpan.org/author/MSCHWERN/ where some, but not all, of Conway's and Schwern's modules are listed as Registered Modules in addition to being Releases.
I ask this question because, back in June when I uploaded List::Compare to CPAN, I *thought* that I correctly went through all the procedures one is supposed to follow when uploading to CPAN: registering the namespace, postings to this list and comp.lang.perl.modules, etc. However, checking http://search.cpan.org/author/JKEENAN/ I find that that module is listed only as a Release, not as a Registered Module. What did I do wrong ... or what do I now need to do? (I have an additional module I'd like to upload.) Thanks.
