Hi all, Given the complete lack of any negative feedback on my previous message (intending to CPANise some modules of mine), I've now gone ahead and created the very first module; see
http://search.cpan.org/~pevans/File-StatCache-0.01/ Before I go too much further, I'd appreciate hearing any comments anyone has on it. In terms of the code, and in terms of how I've packaged it up. I couldn't find much documentation on how to submit a collection of .pm files, so I just tried taring up the directory and uploading it, and that appeared to work. :) Next on my list of plans is to include my read caching module, currently called Common::FileCache; see http://www.leonerd.org.uk/code/perl/ My first question is whether it ought to go in the File-StatCache distribution, or separately? I vaguely have plans for looking at something like Linux::Inotify in the cache module, so the timeouts can suddenly become very large, and the kernel will efficiently inform the program whenever a file changes, rather than the module needing to be checked. This would be of benefit to the read cache as much as the stat cache. -- Paul "LeoNerd" Evans [EMAIL PROTECTED] ICQ# 4135350 | Registered Linux# 179460 http://www.leonerd.org.uk/
