Vircom has never supported adding users to the databases, only recognizing
new users that are already listed in the database. I have often wondered why
this is the case, but I think it has to do with the wide variety of
databases supported and different backends. It would not be appropriate for
Vircom to be adding records into a Platypus db, for example. I wish they
would pick one format such as the extended db, pick a db server such as
mssql and allow adds for that config only. That is the reason we don't use
the extended db and use the registry instead. It allows us to delegate the
administration of adding new customers via the web admin console.
