Thanks
Andrew,
We ended up letting Vircom RDP into our Mail Server (Scary
eh? ;) ) and they fixed it. It looked to me like they just removed our Web Pro
Key....instead of having to go through the loops you did ;)
Hi Daniel, I believe I had this same problem and
I can help. Did you happen to have the Web Pro services installed before
upgrading to Modus? If so, it leaves registry entries (I believe) that screw
up the Modus web service. Check if there are log files being generated by the
webmail service, and whether they mention something about an invalid license
key.
Anyway, my resolution was to uninstall the
Webmail Pro services (via Add/Remove programs), then reinstall Modus,
selecting the web components only (a full install would probably do it too,
but is not necessary). Attached is the email I sent to the list regarding the
problem, you'll see the same error message in my original post; wouldn' t a
searchable archive be nice? :)

Subject: [Modus] Uhh, help :)
My
bad, I pasted the wrong error:
This was the Event Error: "The VIRCOM Web Mail Server service
terminated with the following error:
%%4294967295"
-Dan
Jon,
Thanks for your reply. The System Event Log is where
I got the Event ID #: 7023, "An internal error occurred. Please
try again later and contact your ISP if the problem
persists. Description : The RPC server is not listening. Code :
&H800406B3". That's why we are stuck
:)

Daniel,
Have you looked at the Application Event
Log to see what it shows? Sometimes it can give a clue for a
direction to look.

Jeff,
Thanks for your response. If you look
in my message, though I didn't state it exactly, but that's what the
Vircom recommendation was to resolve the RPC Error message. It had the
correct IP's in it, so I'm not sure sure that's the issue. Honestly, I
believe the reason we are receiving the RPC Error is because the
Webmail service won't start. The IIS Website is started, but when
trying to launch the Vircom Webmail Service it doesn't start. So
something in the Vircom Webmail Service is messing up, not the other
Web based client IMHO.
Thanks!
Sincerely,
CXP

In the VMWServer folder - look at the
WebMailSvr.ini file and verify your IP addresses are
correct

Guys,
We've just upgraded from ModusMAIL
1.4 to 3.x. Here's the issue we are
having:
VOP Mail Web is not working. ;) I'll explain more after my
current setup:
We upgrade our current mail server, which host the Webmail
Client/Server and the ModusMAIL ASV Norman Server...Which is how it
was being used.
Current Setup:
Dual P III 1.0 GHz
2 GB RAM
Three (3) Seagate Cheetah 15 K's in a RAID
5
Windows 2000 SP4
All Hotfixes and Updates (WindowsUpdate)
MDAC 2.8
---
The new WebAdmin page works (even though I can't find a way
to have SERVER wide Administrative accounts, but I'll look back
through the Manual for this unless you have a quick answer.
And I mean Server Wide as in, the ability to create
Domains/Users from the WebAdmin, like we use to do with the
WebMailManager.DLL..).
---
The Webmail page comes up, but after typing in your username
/ password it gives this error message:
"An internal error occurred.
Please try again later and contact your ISP if the problem
persists. Description : The RPC server is not listening. Code
: &H800406B3"
I saw
that this was a top issue on
Vircom's site and double-checked my VWServer and VWClient
files as instructed, which
they all look correct to me. I noticed that you can't start the
VOPMail Web Service. In the Event Viewer the error message is
"The VIRCOM Web Mail Server service terminated with the
following error: %%4294967295 ".
The
Event ID is 7023.
Something else odd, that I don't believe the server was doing
before was the Application Log is showing over 3,500 events, but
they are ALL blank, you can highlight them but they stay blank...oh
well :) Maybe after the Webmail works this will be fixed as well on
it's own :)
So, I
hope you can help us!
Thanks!
