Those are messages that are queued for outbound delivery. The actual message, the control files are in the domains folder/domain name

I dont notice anything right now but the proc came down.  What is the significance of the Holding directory under the spool directory. I do notice about 20 messages in it.

Like a lot of us have experienced, first thing to look for is a mail loop.  Check out your spool folders and see what's going on in there.

Anyone having issues with SMTPRS.exe causing 99% proc utilization?

 

I dont think its Load issue since im running modus L on a p2.4 with 512 meg ram and 7200RPM 8MB cache drive with maybe 500 accounts.
