I don’t believe Windows 2003 installs any unnecessary services by default (“Trustworthy Computing”).

However, the original poster mentions DNS, and should check through the servers Network Settings carefully as Modus will pick up the default details from them.

I'd like to see a nature film where an eagle swoops down and pulls a fish out of a lake, and then maybe he's flying along, low to the ground, and the fish pulls a worm out of the ground. Now that's a documentary.

Subject: [Modus] SMTPDS Service wont start

Hello,

I think this has to do with the Microsoft built in SMTP service which loads automatically with Windows 2003 Server. Check it out and you will have to disable it if it exists in order to get Modus to run properly.

Regards..

Subject: [Modus] SMTPDS Service wont start

Hey guys,

I have just built a standalone windows 2003 server and installed Modus on it. However I am getting an error when the SMTPDS Service tries to start. I suspect this has something to do with the DSN settings on the server. I have tried setting the primary dns server to our in house office server to no avail. Has anyone experienced the same thing?
