* This is the modus mailing list *

I tried to edit them a few months ago and nothing I did seemed to make any difference. I gave up meaning to pick it up again, but I haven't.

After reading these recent messages, one explanation seems obvious: The original templates have malformed syntax.

Mind you, I have no proof - just deduction. Elementary, my dear administrator.

Hope I'm wrong!

I’ve also had problems with the XSL templates and XML files. I’ve tried to do no more than change the “System Administrator” email address. The message always reverts to the default template – and I’m 110% sure that it’s not due to malformed XML/XSL. Note that even editing non-tag elements of the template has no effect whatsoever!

Has anyone successfully customized any of these?

Some people have found that you need to stop and restart some services (I think the ModusADM service).

However, most have found that it was due to improper formatting of the XML file. Unfortunately Vircom to write a parsing error anywhere, instead Modus just continues to send the old template. Check your XML Syntax.

I have just recently changed the templates in the “AlertsTemplates” folder to fit in a little more with our company colours and email addresses etc but for some reason the alerts still come through as the default template. I have opened the html files in the AlertsTemplates folder and also the Update subfolder and checked and they seem to be the way I save them after editing them. Is there something I am missing here?
