I agree with your view.    I run MS$ products because some applications I run require them.  I run 'nix DNS, 'nix public webservers.  I run MS SQL and various webservers related to Vircom and Rodopi products because the base application runs on MS and there is no great advantage in running the Rodopi user page on some other platform even if it would.   But, alternate versions of those applications would be welcome.   Cary       Attend Peering Conference for ISP's, & meet Vircom; GlobalPops & W.
