The message:

[Fri Mar 07 16:44:50.944330 2014] [core:error] [pid 6797] (13)Permission
denied: [client ::1:53818] AH00035: access to /djcode/ denied (filesystem path
'/var/aWebSite/aWebSite/wsgi.py') because search permissions are missing on a
component of the path

is pretty self explanatory I would have thought.

When your code runs under Apache it runs as the Apache user and not you.

All the directories down to your code files and the code files themselves have
to be accessible/readable to the Apache user. That error is saying they aren't.

If you run:

ls -lasR /var/aWebSite

Then directories and files should be o+rx at least.

So this is okay:

0 drwxr-xr-x 51 graham staff 1734 7 Mar 17:20 .

but this wouldn't be:

0 drwxr-x--- 51 graham staff 1734 7 Mar 17:20 .

The only other possibility is that you have SELinux extensions enabled and that
is block Apache from accessing parts of the file system.
