Hi Andy I am very happy with whatI have done and it was my choice, nothing to do with Keith. My water temperatures and I can confirm as I am in France at the moment and have done some long high speed runs are 10-20 degrees lower and never top 100 degrees now. I could easily run 110 - !20 water temp before in 25-35 degrees air temp, but with no water loss, so it never particularly concerned me so it's all relative to what your gauge is showing . BUT I have always believed if you look after your oil it's good for you motor. My pressure is never high, but in a Rover V8 its more about flow than ultimate pressure and I run a constant 2 - 2.2 bar at any speed regardless (again all relative to your gauge) Yes I will invest in a £600 rad one day when I need a replacement, but in the meantime £160 on an oil rad and fittings is well spent Richard M800RGN+8

You seem to have invested in an oil cooler to help you cool the water, which is not logical (to me anyway). However I do respect Keith's judgement and he must have learned something about this from another car possibly. My +8 has the crossover Librands exhausts under the sump and I don't think I need an oil cooler. I do however have a larger alloy radiator which keeps my water temperature in between the thermostat opening temperature of 85 Deg C and 98 Deg when the fan cuts in. My fan only cuts in when in heavy traffic or when I am stationary, whenever I can move at a reasonable speed I have no water cooling issues. You may like the look of the cooler under the nose , but I don't think it is necessary. Modern oils are designed to run very hot , and overcooling them causes more issues generally than overheating them. If you have gained an improvement that is fine, but I suspect you would have been equally pleased , if not more so, by going for the alloy radiator.
