Hi Ed,
That will be super. If I get any seed from any of them I'll send you some. Even
my lupins have long, bare stems from where the bees were unable to pollinate
them because of the weather.

Cheers,
Owen.

  Hi Owen

We (Margaret and me) will collect seed for you from the two alpine and two
large flowered Clematis species here. Scott's has a week or
more to go, C. columbiana even longer and the large flowered species have
just begun to bloom!
  Cheers
  Ed

    Hi Ed,
Glad to hear your clematis are setting seed. The weather's been so dismal,
I've lost several of my early large flowered species completely and none of the
early flowering ones managed to set any seed this year, despite producing loads
of flower. The tanguticas might manage, though - they seem to be doing quite
well.

    Cheers,
    Owen.

      Hi Owen

As a follow up in David Venables "British Racing Green" chapter one
entitled "all a matter of colour" there is a very good explanation
      of why British Racing Green.

P.S. Scott's Hairy Clematis is setting seed so I will collect some and
send it to you. Sorry Mike (SWS) it can not be turned into crisps ;-)
