Sounds like they've found a good place to hide during the day so that they can 
come out and do their nefarious business by night. I tempt them with cheap, 
supermarket beer, in which they drown themselves in drunken ecstasy.

nest full of slugs! Have the slugs moved in so they can access the clematis 
leaves? Perhaps they are flying slugs and could provide Mike with an
