Terry , between the 4/4 and a Plus-4 I have had both and like each for 
different reasons. The Plus-4 has a lot of torque with that TR-4 engine  but 
the four/four is the best balanced and most agile of the two in about a 1967 
with a 1500 to 1600 cross flow Ford but I actually prefer a 1500 non crossflow 
with twin Webers.  But.............for what you have said you are trying to do 
for yourself you really need is a 80s Plus-8 (I prefer 1983 like I have) It 
gives you more room than the 4/4 or Plus-4 and has the V-8 Rover 215 that  runs 
with the big dogs all day long with the Rover 5 speed and never breaths hard. 
It is the most comfortable and smooth  as a good glass of fine wine.    There
