This <http://nvie.com/posts/a-successful-git-branching-model/> was the first one that I ever came across: Notice the Flattr button in the upper right. Flattr is interesting, it seems to be a bigger project. It seems I can donate to projects as opposed to people. I like being able to find the projects that I use the most and Flattr the project as opposed to tipping a specific developer. Might be worth considering to do Flattr as opposed to Gittip (if not both). That said, it actually would make more sense to me (given my assumptions) to have mojolicio.us have a Flattr link while your personal twitter, blog, and other sites would have a gittip link. Ugly, but phpmyadmin <http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/index.php> has a subtle Flattr button at the bottom. I think it might be interesting to take the "Fork me on GitHub" ribbon and add a lower layer "Tip me on GitTip" or something... Maybe take Gittip's heart logo and make it like the facebook, twitter, linked, etc, icons and place it there? Now, you don't have those icons on mojo, but you might A) consider doing so or B) create a place for them anyway and only put the gittip heart there. In any event, to be most impactful, I think you'd need to have a flattr / gittip link on every page as opposed to just the main page. People end up on your sub pages (Mojo docs) through google search or bookmarks, seems to make sense to remind people to donate. You could also consider a wikipedia way of doing things where you have a big banner posted periodically, a very serious reminder that Mojolicious is free and to please donate. I don't know what I'd be able to do, but if there's any way I can, please let me know. I want to help the Mojolicious project in some way. I'm not a great developer or technical writer. I think you, the Mojolicious project, Perl, and other dependencies of Mojolicious deserve tips / donations of some sort. I think that all the open source projects need it. I think PHP deserves. They have a huge following and have hugely impacted the world. People should give. I don't like or use PHP so I don't give to them. But I do like and use Perl, Mojo, etc and I do want to give to them. I don't give to Perl because they are so big and I have only limited funds. I figure it's a better use of my money to cover the small groups and let the big money cover the big groups. Anyway, sorry to tangent. Just some ideas. Hopefully you can get something out of it... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Mojolicious" group.
