Sorry, I should have looked at this first before sending my message. You already made an icon out of the gittip heart. Great! I think that looks fine. The flattr button you're using is what it looks like. I don't think you can or should redesign it because people wouldn't recognize it. People recognize the Flattr button. To me, the only one that doesn't look great on your MetaCPAN profile is the Paypal Donate button. Yuck. As for Flattr, I do wish that it wouldn't be so big including the number of people that are Flattring. Perhaps put that number in the green portion. Or perhaps make it hoverable to show the number. But anyway, that's on Flattr, not you. In the case of Mojoliico.us, I think it might be interesting if one of the dots on your circuit trees would be a gittip heart. Fairly subtle, but functional. Maybe similarly to the Perl Rock balloon, you could do some sort of zepplin that usually announces messages, to have the Flattr link. Idk...
