No because "i can't", since i'm on Debian Lenny and if i remember well to have Mono 2.4 i have to go to Unstable (updating tons of packets). Even if i want to compile Mono from source i think i'll have to update lots of packets.. I think i'll try to see if it gives the same error on windows, using Mono 1.9.1 and then the newest.
