Also, XFCE uses GTK anyway, so GTK# in XFCE will look native, while GTK# in KDE might look a little out of place (but if you're from Windows then "not quite fitting with anything else" is the norm these days!)

Depending on your distro then you might find that someone put in an odd dependency that still pulls in parts of Gnome, but Debian should be well structured and shouldn't do that.

I believe you can use GTK (and hence GTK#) under XFCE or KDE; they're
not restricted to Gnome.

For a native-looking application under KDE, you'd use Qt. There's a .NET
library for Qt called Qyoto
<http://techbase.kde.org/Development/Languages/Qyoto> but I've never
tried it before. Here is a tutorial that might help:

    Hi !

Sorry, as a long-term Windows users, my linux - especially the
dektop knowledge - is small. I am currently faced with the
situation to make an UI program for linux and I am looking
    for non-gnome-able libs.

Thats - I migrated a debian squeeze to wheezy yesterday
and now, I understand the whole debate: The new Gnome
is pure idiotie and I am looking for alternates, like xcfe or
KDE, but which to know, if there are mono libs for one of
    these two.

Just a tip would be great!

    Thanks a lot,
