I WAS chomping at the bit. I'm not sure I am now.

I have a fairly new 15" i5 with 8GB and the high res screen. Aside
from retina ipad apps, it's great to develop on (quad core would be
nice tho). I also have a Momentus XT 750GB hybrid drive, which is a
LOT quicker than a normal spinning rust disk. (my wife has the quad
core i7 (sandy bridge), and it's quicker, but also runs crazy hot)

It also lives on my desk, almost never gets moved.

So, the new ones (macbook pro elite?) look nice, but I'd need to be
able to turn off the @2x stuff - and run it at either full resolution,
or at something higher than 1680x1050, which is what I have now. I'd
also need to get the maximum SSD (well, the 500GB version at minimum),
which jams the price up, tho it's still affordable-ish (tax write off!
yay UK government rules!)

So, I'm tempted, but I'm not sure HOW tempted I am. I'm certainly not
in a huge hurry. The normal 15" (with the new ivy bridge cpus) is
actually more tempting, as it's quicker, runs cooler, and in general,
is better for what I do. But the new shiny..... is shiny.

I like the size of the MBA's, but to be honest, I dont move my machine
much, if at all, and I'm over 13" or smaller screens - I've had a
white 13" and a 13" pro in the past - once I went 15" high res, I'm
not going back.
