I hear you Aaron, that comment was probably too flame-ish.  I wasn't
really trying to attack jQuery as much as I was trying to show the sad
comedy and thought process of a subset of its users.  I see sites
getting massive credit for design and UI plugins who do not attribute
any credit to past works they virtually copy.  For example Lokesh
Dhakar comment credits turn up on many, many lightboxes and it is
really nice that he is recognized in that way.  I would like to see
more plugin authors credit those who they derive creative ideas and
code from, especially when they are being touted as some sort of
original genius.

I can remember not too long ago crediting some guys blog when
referencing a IE8 css hack that I was talking about.  It isn't hard to
credit the body of work that comes before you, in fact it shows great
character in my opinion.

That said, I have always had issues with shoot from the hip comments
(both online and off), perhaps this is a case of the like  ;)
