Wow!! I was THERE, folks!!
What a concert!  It was in the FULL New Orleans Superdome-- not the "concert" configuration that dwarfs the whole!
A little-known group called Van Halen opened.  Amongst forgotten others were the Doobie Brothers.
And when the Stones finally hit the stage, management threw up on the Electric Crawl the official total of people who were in the building-- over 91,000!!!!  The largest (at least then and I think, still) indoor crowd tallied in history!
Oh, it was fabulous!!!
I can still smell the.....coffee!  A huge cloud of it floating in the upper regions!
Ah, nostalgia!
And you kiddies thought the era was "quaint."  Quaint, my ass!  Now, THAT was Rock-and-Roll  !!!

Joe Bonelli

PS-- Thanks, Dario, for the nostalgia trip!
