Even as eBay is announcing a *huge* increase in fees (including
raising the commission on sales from a range of 3 to 5% to between 6 to 8%),
www.MoviePosterBid.com
has announced that their movie poster-only auction site has actually
LOWERED some fees recently -- and the year-old auction site now invites all
movie poster sellers to compare rates and give MPB a try as they start
the new year:
1) On eBay, the commission charged on sales will be:
$0.01-$25 / 8% of the closing price $25.01-$1000 / 8% of the initial $25.00, plus 5% of the first $1000. $1000+ / 8% of the initial $25.00, plus 5% of the
initial $25.01 to $1,000.00, plus 3% of the remaining sales price.
ON MPB: The commission on sales is a flat 3%, regardless of
what the item sold for.
2) on Ebay, the fee to use the "Buy it Now" option will be:
Items Price / Fee
$0.01-9.99 / $0.05 $10-24.99 / $0.10 $25-49.99 / $0.20 $50+ / $0.25 ON MPB: The fee to use buy it now (called EZ Buy) is a flat rate of
ZERO. There is NO CHARGE to use this option.
3) On eBay, the fee to list an item for auction (insertion fee)
is:
ON MPB: the fee to list an item for auction is a flat rate of $0.15, regardless of the starting price. 4) On eBay, gallery fees will be raised to $0.35 per
listing. eBay will also be increasing the size of the Gallery image on search and listings pages by 56%. ON MPB: gallery fees are $0.10 per listing.
MPB has *always* had larger image display size
than
eBay -- with this recent change in image size, eBay will
only
just now be "catching up" to what MPB has always
had. 5) On eBay, the charge to use additional options are:
Set a "Reserve Price" on an auction costs $3.00 and up (depending on the
reserve)
To "feature" an item at the top of its category costs $19.00.
ON MPB, setting a reserve price costs a flat rate of $1.00,
regardless of the amount of the reserve.
ON MPB, to feature an item at the top of its category costs $1.00
-- and this fee also lets the item get displayed on the "Home Page" of
the auction site (something you simply cannot do at eBay).
www.MoviePoster bid ONLY auctions
MOVIE POSTERS. With a bidding audience tailored to the field, you can be
sure that your auctions will be seen and bid on by people who are only looking
for movie posters and know the field. Listings of reproductions within the
originals category is prohibited and ENFORCED, so your listings will not be
obscured by hundreds of reprints.
Why not move some of your auctions from eBay to MPB for a couple of months?
Continue to promote your MPB auctions just as you do your eBay auctions and
start realizing the benefit of far lower fees and an auction site dedicated only
to movie posters!
