Greg,
Actually, it's kind of funny -- PayPal's defaults have always been
arbitrary, but when they started out they defaulted to using your credit card
*first* -- I used to have to fight with their system to get it to pay with my
cash balance. Now they seem to have done a complete reversal of policy and are
discouraging using the credit card as the first choice (perhaps because they are
now starting to pay interest on cash balances?).

Subject: Re: [MOPO] Paypal Question
Thanks to all for the replies to my Paypal question about the
lack of a credit card option under certain circumstances. I THOUGHT that,
in the past, one was able to opt for the use of a credit card to pay for
items regardless of how much was in your Paypal account, but I obviously
that has changed. (I love the "Are you absolutely SURE you want to use
that nasty old credit card?" window that pops up when you do choose the
card option. Very subtle, Paypal.) It seemed to me as well that the
Paypal default settings were becoming a little arbitrary, but with my
memory, who knows? Greg Douglass Judith Weaver wrote:
