Maybe an "astute" collector is smart enough to realize that it's very
possible while Dave can get $11,500.00 , that the collector himself may not
have:
1) the knowledge on how to sell the item like Dave does (or any other dealer)
2) lacks the time to deal with it
3) would like to remain anonymous
4) is satisfied with 7500
5) lots of other reasons..
but generally it's because most collectors either do not have the type of
clientelle that dealers do, and also just don't have the wherewithal to
bother dealing with it until some smart dealer walks up & offers what is in
reality a pretty fair price on a wholesale rate
I don't think it's any surprise that many MoPo-ers do sell on the side..
these are the people Dave is talking to, plus there ain't nothing like
promotion.
Dave is a smart guy Claude, and there are lots of reasons to make offers
like these

I was implying that if you know a specific title just sold for big dollars
on ebay (even after the auction, which happens a lot) why not sell it on
ebay yourself for big dollars. Why sell it to him? That is all I
asked. A number of collectors understood my point and I will not name
them because I do not want to omit anyone. I hope you now get my
point. If not call me and I will explain over the phone.
