Kirby says it all here--- with the imprimatur of the True Texan.  I also admire the Stevens Jr. documentary-- one of the best of its kind.

I don't believe that any other film pays homage to the idea of any place

in quite the same way.  Ferber tried to repeat her success with ICE PALACE -

made the film so memorable was the cast and the way the script grafted the
