Hmm, do you only look at US one sheets Mike? All international art I've seen for The Shining uses the "Here's Johnny" art, and even the so-called dud "newspaper" Quad is rather fabulous.
But I'll give you that, that OS is one of the ugliest posters I've ever seen. I'm more worried about the general decline in MPArt. Gone are the days of different international territory art (even if EVERY international territory used it! lol). Almost everything is just a carbon copy of the US OS. I no longer need to track down a fantastic Aussie OS, because they don't really exist anymore (did get myself a nice Monsters Inc though). Hell, I can't even buy a good Disney video poster anymore, and I LOVE Disney video posters!!! But they're just not trying anymore. I've only been collecting for about 10 years, and my collection is primarily recent posters, but the last International campaign I have is Snow White 1993. And the only recent posters in my collection that actually have different art is Lilo and Stitch (numerous countries but mostly Asian and a nice but somewhat disjointed German) and Halloween H20 (German only)... and the Monsters Inc adv. I picked up (though a search will reveal the art, but I have been unable to find the poster itself). It's only my budget that prevents some vintage purchases: Pinocchio insert, Snow White Style B. LOL When I win the lottery I'll come knockin'. But back to the subject, almost all of the posters these days, good movie OR bad, are 100% crap.
