I am a great believer in the use of the English language as it can
be very persuasive in getting one's point across while at the same time,
improper use can cause the reverse effect. Adjectives such as "jerk"
inflame without really making the necessary point. I believe that had such
words as misleading or deceiving been used in lieu of jerk a better point may
have been made and I am certain this is the connotation which JR meant in his
email. There are others who also do this but they don't flood mopo with
their misleading wares.
When a person advertises posters in bold letters as a ruse to get
you to look at his posters he is a deceiver. Take a look at all of his
auctions and you will note the deliberate omission of a small picture of each
poster in the main listings. This "bait" advertising forces you to click
on the listing and lo and behold, it is not a US poster. Note listings
stating "rare style" and they are most always foreign posters.
I fully agree with JR's frustrations with these types of sellers
and have developed my own searching methods which include (most of the time) not
to look at sellers who bait you with language such as his and deliberately omit
pictures. It makes searching easier, faster and less
frustrating.
